The Early Days Degrassi and Beyond
Drake was born Aubrey Drake Graham on October 26th, 1986. Before exploding into rap fame, the Toronto, Ontario native was known for his role as Jimmy Brooks on the TV show Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Started From The Bottom And Now We're Here
From 2006 - 2009, Drake released several mixtapes and eventually signed to Lil' Wayne's Young Money Records where he released the EP So Far Gone. In 2010, Thank Me Later was released, followed up by Take Care in 2011. Take Care won a Grammy for Best Rap Album, which helped cement Drake's place as one of Canada's biggest exports.
That OVO Sound Nothing was the Same
Drake and old friend Noah Shebib formed the record label OVO Sound in early 2012 and in Sept 2013, Nothing was the Same was released to critical acclaim. As of late, Drake has been getting back into acting and made his Saturday Night Live hosting debut on January 19, 2014; also serving as the musical guest.
